TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Edgar Harrison
Date26 January 1915
Description'With regard to your memorandum on the subject of the edition of the Phil[osophical] Trans[actions]. I am fully under the impression that I settled this some months ago with you when agreed to increase the edition from 900 to (I think) 850 as voted on a letter of the times (news) and I cannot find a letter recorded. I hope it is not true that papers have been hung up since October for this question as Mr White seems to think, Anyhow please take it that the number is to be increased by the quantity we agreed upon at an interview here, and push forward at once with the printing off of any papers you have in hand. I have a fairly clear recollection of agreeing as to the number (550) that were to be put into wrappers at the outset, and if you could let me have your notes as to the result of that interview, which unfortunately I cannot find myself, I will embody them in a letter now.
I agree to the imprint being as you suggest in your letter of December vis. 'published by the Royal Society and sold by Harrison & Sons' in view of the official addition being now separate papers.
I have been so overwhelmingly busy lately or I would have written sooner.'
