TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Miss E Stokes, 75 Chancery Lane, WC
Date3 February 1915
Description'We did hear from Professor Hembdt about the Oldenburg portrait and he did enclose a small remittance (1/6). This followed on a conversation here with Miss Drucker, who was informed that we have a portrait printed of which the block was available, and that a reproduction usually cost about 1/6.
Our printers have since reported to us that they have no the blocks in question. It is now 14 years since the work was done, so perhaps under the circumstances it would be simplest to get a fresh reproduction independently. I enclose a print of the portrait in question, from which Professor Hembdt might be able to prepare a fresh block, making of course all due acknowledgements of source, etc. Perhaps this will meet the situation.'
