Description'The appointment of a Superintendent at Valencia Observatory to succeed Mr Cullum on his retirement has been, as you know, the subject of discussion by a Sub-Committee of the Gassiot Committee, which entrusted to that Sub-Committee the nomination of a suitable candidate.
I am now directed by the Chairman of the Gassiot Committee to forward you the unanimous recommendation of the Sub-Committee; which is that Mr L H G Dines MA, AMICE, Senior Professor Assistant now at Eskdalemuir Observatory be appointed to success Mr Cullum.'
