TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to the President of the Board of Trade
Date25 March 1915
Description'Some weeks ago I had the honour on behalf of the Council of the Royal Society to present to the Prime Minister a Memorial on the development of Chemical Industries in this country, and begged him to receive a Deputation from the Royal Society supported by other Societies interested in the question, to discuss the subject as a urgent matter arising out of the state of war. Mr Asquith replied that, circumstances not allowing of his giving time himself to a discussion of the matter, he had asked you to receive the Deputation. Since the receipt of that reply I have been hoping for a communication from you; and venture now to ask you to appoint a day for the Deputation.
It will probably be difficult to make necessary arrangements before Easter, but I shall be glad to know at your convenience of a date or dates consistent with your own engagements towards the end of April.'
