Description'I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 19th instant and your previous communication on the subject, and I am directed to say that it is an established rule of the Society never to give their opinion, as a body, upon subjects submitted to them. If you desire to submit a paper to the Society it must be communicated by a Fellow of the Society.'
