TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to the Secretary, HM Office of Works
Date21 June 1915
Description'The London County Council through the Chief Officer of the Fire Brigade have been good enough to give me their opinion upon the adequacy of the arrangements within this building and under the control of the Royal Society for the protection of the building from fire. The arrangements on the whole are considered to be satisfactory excepting that the Chief Office considers we should have a larger supply of chemical extincteurs. Since these implements were originally provided by HM Office of Works I shall be much obliged by your arranging to increase the equipment of the building in this respect to the extent recommended by the Fire authorities.
Perhaps the Clerk of the Works will be able to see me about it.'
