TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Professor John Ambrose Fleming FRS
Date2 July 1915
Description'Referring to our conversation this week, the Minutes of Council as settled yesterday are open to your inspection under your statutory rights as a Fellow, but I am afraid they will not contain nominations to the sectional committees working under the War Committee.
I mentioned your desire to know the constitution of these committees, but the Council, after very full consideration, instructed me to say that out of regard to the very confidential nature of the business with which these sectional committees are concerned it is undesirable to let their constitution be know, even among the Fellows of the Society outside the actual committees themselves. The Council have constituted themselves. The Council have constituted themselves the main War Committee.'
