Description | 'Mackinnon Trust. In reply to your letter of August 9, I think that the question whether the Estate Duty which has become payable on the death of Mrs Mary Harvey may under the circumstances be paid out of the residuary estate of Sir William Mackinnon is one which must come before the Council of the Royal Society for their decision when they meet in October. In the meantime I should wish to be informed whether the credit balance of £117.9.4 in the hands of the Executors can be regarded as capital. Is it not entirely or partly interest which has to be administered by the Royal Society as part of the income of Mackinnon Trust.' |
