Description'Professor Seward,
The Botany Committee have had under consideration the paper by Professor [Alfred James] Ewart on "The Function of Chlorophyll, Carotin and Xanthophyll", communicated by you, and have directed me to send you for transmission to Professor Ewart the enclosed copy of a referee's report. I think the report explains itself and the Committee not not propose to take any further action in the matter until they have had Professor Ewart's views on it."
