DescriptionInforms the Treasurer that in 1916 the Royal Society awarded the Hughes Medal to Professor Elihu Thomson on the ground of his researches in experimental electricity. Explains that this medal was accompanied by a monetary grant which Professor Thomson desired should be devoted to the relief of victims of war. Notes that the Society and Professor Thomson agreed on the British Red Cross Society, and therefore there is enclosed a cheque for £102.10.2 [not enclosed].
