Thornton, 'The influence of reduced pressure on the electrical ignition of gases'. Informs Sir Clerk that since then the author has sent in a shorter paper which he thinks might take its place. Encloses it now and asks Sir Clerk to ascertain whether this is suitable communication for the Society [not enclosed].
