| Description | Writes he had hoped to see Sir Joseph [John] Thomson, President of the Royal Society, on Friday, but understands he was not able to call until the evening to sign the letter to the Research Department, and has enclosed the card he left on the table in case he has not taken note of it [not enclosed]. Says he promised Mr Montagu Evans he would speak to Sir Joseph Thomson about a letter, 'probably I think one of the visionary ones', that was sent some months before, but of which there is no record. Mr Montagu Evans has 'been stirring up his member of Parliament, Sir Clement Kinloch Cooke who has been here about it.' He advises Sir Joseph Thomson that his file has been looked through but there is no trace of the paper or the letter. |
