DescriptionLetter to Dr JCM [James Clerk Maxwell] Garnett of the College of Technology, Manchester relating the Standing Order of Council regarding the withdrawal of papers. A paper that has not been read can be withdrawn provided a copy remains in the possession of the Royal Society. Alternatively, if the Council of the Royal Society have decided not to accept the paper for reading or publication, the paper is deposited in the Royal Society Archives and remains the property of the Society. The author would need the express permission of the Council to publish elsewhere.
