| Description | Advises the previous year the auditors drew attention to the growing balance of the Darwin Medal Fund, the balance of which is now £967.9.10 with an excess of income over expenditure of £65.16.0. Based on a recommendation from a joint meeting of the Botany and Zoology Committees, the Council of the Royal Society decided in 1910 that any excess be used to further biological research in the 'Darwinian field.' It was to be expended by the Council of the Royal Society based on advice from the Sectional Committees for Botany and Zoology. Sir William Bate Hardy advises he thinks the Committees should now meet again to consider the subject, and asks if Professor Vernon Herbert Blackman if he agrees. |
