TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to HW Sheppard ESq.
Date21 October 1919
DescriptionAdvises that the manuscript Hebrew Old Testament (Bishop Kennicott's Cod. 128) is no longer in the possession of the Royal Society, although it was formerly. He does not know the date or circumstances of its leaving. Notes it might be expected to have gone to the British Museum with the Oriental MSS in 1835, but it is not in their catalogues. He doubts it could be overlooked as it is a substantial volume. He conjectures that perhaps Bishop Kennicott had it in his possession, and it never went back to the Royal Society.
