TitleCopy letter from AH White, Assistant Librarian of the Royal Society; to Professor JM [John Millar] Thomson, FRS
Date7 January 1920
DescriptionReplying to an enquiry from the previous day, advises that there ought to be a meeting of the Library Committee on 14 January, and will send out the summonses. Says he believes it is better to have too many than too few meetings at a time like the present, and the points to consider would be the Subcommittee Report, resumption of Enemy Exchanges under Council resolution, general revision of list of foreign, especially enemy, subscriptions and exchange, question of foreign purchase. Says Professor Thomson's suggestion to consult the Sectional Committees about revising of journals is excellent, and requests he sends a note to the Chairmen. Advises there will be classified lists ready of the special journals. Says he has had no response from Masson, but should send a similar letter to Fischer of Jena quoting only the important German items that will certainly be continued.
