DescriptionRegarding the Radium Research Fund, advises there is a Council of the Royal Society minute 19 March 1914 which states that the available balance of the Radium Research Fund be 'placed in Sir Ernest Rutherford's hands for experiments.' Minutes from 1915 notes that at the request of Sir Ernest Rutherford, FRS [PRS], £100 from the fund was transferred to Marsden. Advises there is currently a balance of over £400 which he can use for the purchase of mesothorium, and that he will just need to write to the Treasurer of the Royal Society [Sir David Prain, FRS] stating the amount wanted. The present balance of the fund is £490.11.5.
