TitleCopy letter from AH White, Assistant Librarian of the Royal Society; to HW Sheppard Esq
Date7 February 1920
DescriptionRegarding the recovery of the missing manuscript, the Kennicott Codex 128, says he is pleased to hear HW Sheppard hopes to trace the manuscript himself, and AH White offers to assist in any way he can. Advises the best course would be to trace it first, and then to contact the Secretaries of the Royal Society with an account of the situation, and then the issue of reimbursement of out of pocket expenses could be properly addressed. Also says, 'I observe you plainly use the word "theft" now, which may perhaps be justifiable, but it is a stronger expression than I should make use of as it seems to beg the whole question.'
