TitleCopy letter from Sir James Hopwood Jeans, FRS, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Dugald Clerk KBE, FRS
Date13 February 1920
DescriptionAdvises he is referring a long paper to the Applied Sciences Committee, 'Experiments on the pressure wave thrown out by submarine explosions,' by Professor [John Cunningham] McLennan, FRS. It would be 70 pages of the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society,' and includes a large number of illustrations, and is estimated to cost £180. Two referees are required and it may be necessary to submit it to more due to its length. He notes it appears to cover the same ground as McLennan's paper read at Newcastle. Suggests sending it to each of the referees with the paper, and asks Sir Dugald Clerk KBE, FRS, to consider the nomination of referees.
