| Description | [Above the letter is a handwritten note that says 'It was not entered into the Journal Book so no confirmation there.' Advises that a mistake was made in the inclusion of a paper by Mr Usher in those read at the meeting of 11 December. Says that the error will be apparent if he looks at the enclosed last copy of the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' Series A [not enclosed]. Bates had given instructions for the paper to be withdrawn, and the error was due to confusion in the office caused by the turn over of staff. The mistake has been corrected in the Year Book and if Pearson wishes he will send a slip our to the Fellows. |
