Date16 March 1892
DescriptionProfessors Newton and Schiaperselli, who were suggested for Foreign Membership at the last meeting of Council, were not entered in the Foreign Member Book lying on the table. Dr [Michael] Foster wishes Rix to explain to Lockyer that in accordance with statute, only the claims of those men of science whose names have been entered in the book shall be considered. Rix is to take it as if the names had been duly entered on condition that Lockyer, as the proposer, makes the necessary entries.
