TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]
Date22 June 1892
DescriptionMr White is sending Rayleigh this morning Mr Pentomley's[?] paper, which at the last meeting of Committee was referred to the same referees as a former paper. The other referee besides Rayleigh was Professor Tyndall who however, declined to report. Rix thinks there is still less likelihood that Tyndall will be induced to report on the present paper. Tyndall has either gone or is just going abroad and is in a very poor state of health. Rix shall put the paper down again for the 30th. Rix wonders if he should meanwhile write to Tyndall to ascertain his readiness or otherwise to act as referee.
