TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Lindfield, Portland Works, Portland Road, Notting Hill
Date11 July 1892
DescriptionLindfield's estimate [for work in the Society's basement] is still beyond what the Treasurer, John Evans, will allow, Rix supposes they must confine themselves to the Engine Room and the rest will have to wait until next year.

Asks to know what the engine room alone will cost and would like the bedrooms done [redecorated] the first week in August. They likes the [wall]paper Lindifeld chose but would prefer stripes if they can obtain stripes that match the paint. Rix would also like added to the estimate the re-colouring of the cornice for a better paint match. Discusses how the servant would like her bedroom decorated. Apologises for giving so much trouble over such a small order.
