TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Joseph Larmor, FRS
Date15 February 1921
DescriptionRefers to R. O. Street's paper, 'The dissipation of energy in permanent ocean currents'. Explains to Sir Joseph Larmor that the referee reports that the second part of the paper on the relation between currents and temperatures is 'tentative' and should be defered in the hope of doing work on this on more assured lines later. Notes that he has written to the author who is reluctant to abbreviate his paper in this way. Suggests that, if Sir Larmor try could persuade him to make the second part of the paper look 'less essential', it would be passed under Standing Order 43.
