TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Arthur Schuster, Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society
Date14 April 1921
DescriptionWrites to Sir Arthur Schuster on the subject of International Unions, specifically that of Mathematics. Writes that, as he understands it, the Society are responsible for all subscriptions to International Associations and the funds for this purpose are in the hands of their Treasurer [Sir David Prain]. What remains unclear to him, however, is who should summon the meetings of the National Committees when no International Union has been formed. Asks Sir Arthur Schuster for his opinion on this, and if he agrees that the National Committees should be considered Committees of the Society.
