Title | Copy letter from William Bate Hardy, Secretary of the Royal Society; to the Under Secretary of State; Home Office |
Date | 27 May 1921 |
Description | Informs the Under Secretary that in the course of the Society's investigations into the causation of glassworkers' cataract it has been noticed that a similar form of cataract also occurs in ironworkers. Notes that, while glassworkers' cataract is included in the Schedule of diseases subject to compensation under the Workmen's Compensation Act, the same cannot be said for ironworkers. Suggests that the Home Office might wish to consider amending this anomaly. |
