Notes that the report on 'The refractive indices of mercuty and thallium vapours' is favourable and asks if it can be passed under Standing Order 43. Encloses his reports on the remaining two papers, 'The spectrum of potassium' and 'The emission and absorption spectra of mercury', and asks whether the enclosed letter might be sent to Professor McLennan on the subject [nothing enclosed].
