TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [Andrew Russell] Forsyth, FRS
Date5 May 1921
DescriptionRefers to the two papers that Professor [Andrew Russell] Forsyth left with the Society, 'Note on the cable equations' and 'Vibrations of a circular membrane, slightly inelastic and symmetrically loaded'. Explains that they have both been to referees and the reports are unfavourable. Notes that in each case the criticism is that the mathematical part of the paper is not of sufficient novelty. Reminds Professor Forsyth that, since the papers have not been read, it is open to him to withdraw them.
