TitleCopy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to S. B. Gaythorpe Esquire; 3 Prospect Road, Barrow-in-Furness
Date10 May 1921
DescriptionInforms Mr. S. B. Gaythorpe that Auzout's letter is in Volume 1. of the Supplementary Letter Book, in spite of the date. Notes that he is unclear as to what these Supplementary Books are, and that this could only be ascertained through a comparison between them and the original Letter Books, which the Library staff have not yet had time to do. Also notes that there is a large contemporary manuscript index to all these early record books which it might be worth Mr. Gaythorpe consulting.
