DescriptionGives information on [John Constantine] Carpus, FRS as requested; that he was elected 13 February 1817, the certificate was signed by 11 Fellows, who are listed in the letter as George Pearson, Thomas Thomson, Robert Bingley, Daniel Moore, William Charles Wells, Sir Everald Home, H. Leigh Thomas, Charles D. E. Konig, William Hasledine Pepys, Sir Benjamin Brodie and John Heaviside. His birth is given as 4 May 1764 and his death 30 Jan 1846, following an accident on the South Western Railway. Mentions a friendship with George IV and suggests Vol. 3 of the Dictionary of national Biography for more details.
