TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Geoffrey Ingram] Taylor, FRS
Date15 May 1924
DescriptionRefers to the 'hydrodynamical Hindoo', who has sent in another paper and stated that others are to follow, asks if Taylor would like to look through the paper himself or put in direct contact with him. States that the unnamed individual is gratuitous for the trouble Jeans and Taylor have put for him and that he has a certain amount of ability, but learning at their expense. Jeans states that the although the problems put across in the paper have been solved adequately, are not for Royal Society publications and suggests 'Messenger of Mathematics' or the 'Quarterly Journal'. Mentions the subjects covered by the author as the notion of a cylinder whose cross section is the inverse of an ellipse and the same for elliptic limacon.
