TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Robert John Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, FRS
Date15 May 1924
DescriptionInforms Robert John Strutt of his opinion on the two papers by J. E Jones which are 'The determination of molecular fields. Part I from the variation of the viscosity of gas with temperature' and 'Part II From the equation of state of a gas'. James Hopwood Jeans does not remain convinced by them as he feels the paper's use of the old Kinetic theory only supports Quantum theory. Suggests an independent referee and that it the event of a favourable report for it to be published. Suggests Charles [Galton] Darwin or [Frederick Alexander] Lindemann.
