TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Prof. [Sydney] Chapman, FRS
Date22 May 1924
DescriptionInforms Chapman of 4 papers. 1. Sends the paper 'The drift of spinning projectiles' by J. W. Campbell. 2. Advises printing the paper 'The elastic stability of an annular plate' by W.R. Dean, as Taylor's covering letter, who also communicated the paper is favourable to it. 'Problems in two-dimensional electrostatics' by Dr. [Dorothy Maud] Wrinch has been communicated by Professor [Horace] Lamb [Chairman of the Mathematics Committee] who advises the paper be sent to a referee. Jeans agrees as past papers by the 'authoress' have been declined. Asks if an additional referee should be needed for the paper 'Electrification of two parallel circular discs', other than Whittaker and Watson or if Chapman would like to look through the paper himself. Includes a handwritten equation.
