TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Robert John Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, FRS
Date29 May 1924
DescriptionUpdates the situation regarding two papers. 1: The paper 'the ultraviolet spark spectra of some of the elements' by Lang, which the referees Merton and Fowler both agree is of borderline standard. Merton, [previously did not favour publication] decided to go with Fowler's hesitant decision to publish the article. Asks to publish the paper 'The effects of argon on certain spectra' by J. C. Johnson and communicated by Merton, as Merton has stated it to be a carefully written and an interesting piece.
