TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [Sydney] Chapman, FRS
Date8 October 1925
DescriptionInforms Professor [Sydney] Chapman of a new paper, 'Fluid Resistance to Moving Spheres' by R. G. Lunnon, communicated by [Thomas Henry] Havelock. Asks whether this needs a referee, given that Havelock is always very thorough about communicating accurate papers to the Royal Society. Also informs Chapman of another new paper, 'A Class of Integral Equations occuring in Physics' by [John William] Nicholson and Dr [Dorothy Maud] Wrinch. Jeans insinuates that he has 'the impression that Nicholson has done the work and that his wife [Dr Wrinch] has done the copying out'. Asks Chapman to suggest a referee for this paper. Finally, discusses the question of exceeding the 24 page limit for Proceedings papers.
