Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Frank Dyson, FRS |
Date | 2 March 1926 |
Description | Informs Franks Dyson there is little point in considering a joint meeting of the [Royal Society] and the [Royal Astrological Society] if it will follow the same pattern as the joint meeting after the 1919 expedition, who were unable to get the results wanted (on the [solar] eclipse) due to weather and seemed to have little to say on scientific matters in comparison to the voyage and food. Asks for Dyson to consult with anyone he likes to consider of the report justifies a joint meeting, and if desired, and approved by the Sectional Committee, for its publication in the May Proceedings. If not, for an ordinary Astronomical meeting to take place on 9 April. |
