TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Henry Edward] Armstrong, FRS
Date4 March 1926
DescriptionMentions objections to the first paragraph of the obituary notice of [James] Dewar. States that it contains errors which even [Henry Edward] Armstrong admits to in a footnote regarding Dewar's early career. Suggests correcting the first paragraph and stating in the footnote that the lecture delivered at the Royal Institution, of which the notice is a shortened form, contained details that were later discovered to be false. Sends an amended version [not enclosed] for Armstrong to look through.
