TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Colonel [Frederick John Marrian] Stratton
Date19 October 1926
DescriptionContacts Colonel [Frederick John Marrian] Stratton in regards to 3 matters. Suggests having the Eclipse Meeting on 11 November and will finalise the date unless heard otherwise. This is because Fellows are expected to arrive the day before the Astronomical Meeting on 12 November. Asks if the summons should be sent out with that of the Astronomical Society. 2. Sends a copy of the Royal Society Minutes of 1898 regarding Stratton's expedition. Jeans suggests the paper be complete before submission for immediate publication on Proceedings. States that abstracts of the paper can be published in other publications but the full paper should not be published in both the Proceedings and Monthly notices as suggested in the minutes. 3. Expresses regret at Stratton giving up being Treasurer of the [Royal Astronomical Society], suggests Hepburn as a successor.
