TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Collings
Date27 June 1893
DescriptionRix thinks Collings has had the two [Oliver Joseph] Lodge photographs before but cannot find their estimate, if they provided one. Asks to know at once what they will cost as half shaded blocks for 'Philosophial Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. The human figures may be left out except the man who is manipulating the instrument; there should be some indication of the position of his hands but much of the detail may be omitted. Asks Collings to let him know if he thinks they would be better as lithographs.

Asks for the cuts for [Francis Cranmer] Penrose to be put in hand at once as the author has deiced they are to go in the text.

Sends by this post a sheet of figures intended to illustrate a paper by Mr J H Cooke. These are to be done from the specimens as woodcuts in a 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' paper. Asks Collings to call on Arthur Smith Woodward of the Natural History Museum who will point out the specimens. Asks for an estimate before they are put in hand.
