TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Joseph Norman Lockyer, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date14 December 1892
DescriptionBy this post Rix is sending a manuscript by F C Penrose. It has been sent as a report on the Government Grant of £100 which was assigned to him for examination of the orientation of Greek temples. The Secretaries consider however that a much briefer statement will serve this purpose and the manuscript in question should, if suitable, be published either in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' or elsewhere. Rix is instructed therefore to send it to Lockyer for examination with the request that Lockyer advise the Secretaries whether it is suitable for the 'Prodceedings' and if it is whether he would be willing to communicate it.
