TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to W Shield, Engineer's Office, Harbour of Refuge Works, Peterhead, N.B.
Date13 January 1893
DescriptionThe only form in which the papers about which Shield enquires are published, is that of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. To lend them would involve sending several bound volumes from the library which cannot be spared, or else lending numbers of the 'Proceedings' from stock, which would render them unsaleable. Rix returns Shield's list of the papers with the numbers and prices marked thereon, so that he may see whether it is worth his while to purchase or borrow them from a public library.
