Description | With reference to the Under Secretary's letter of 14 January, 40139/434, in which the Royal Society were informed that the services of number 16578 Sergeant J Kearney would be lent at the request of the Royal Society to accompany the expedition to Senegambia, to observe the total eclipse of the sun in April, Rix is directed to return best thanks from the President and Council to Secretary Campbell-Bannerman for according this favour. The Eclipse Committee request to have Kearney's services from the 13th of the present month. |
