TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Registrar of Public Companies, Inland Revenue, Somerset House
Date9 February 1893
DescriptionRix complains of an irregularity in the Registrar's department which has caused considerable inconvenience. The previous day, by instruction of the Assistant Secretary of the Board of Trade, Rix presented for registration the articles of association of the incorporated Kew Committee of the Royal Society with the licence of the Board of Trade. The clerk informed him that if he called back the same afternoon the licence would be registered. Rix was not able to call back but sent a messenger this morning who reports that the licence cannot be given for three days. Rix complains of this misinformation on behalf of the clerks.
