DescriptionFoster is directed by the President and Council to request Sanderson to convey to the Earl of Rosebery their best thanks for the action he has taken towards securing customs facilities in Brazil for the observers of the approaching solar eclipse, and for the very valuable note by Mr O'Meara forwarded by Mr Greville, and enclosed in Sanderson's letter of 17th February. They Society hopes his Lordship will be so good as to cause to be conveyed to O'Meara, the best thanks of the Royal Society for his note and promised assistance and also to the Western & Brazilian Telegraph Company for the help they have so courteously promised.
