DescriptionDe Candolle's letter addressed to Lord Kelvin [William Thomson], announcing the lamented death of the Society's Foreign Member, Professor A de Candolle, was received this morning and shall be laid before his Lordship when he comes to town. De Candolle's death will be announced at the nest Council meeting and will, he is sure, be received with the deepest regret.
