DescriptionGeikie is desired by the President and Council to express their regret that their colleague J N Lockyer, whom they had asked to be their delegate at the Galileo Tricentenary in Padua, will be prevented from undertaking this duty. The Society's congratulatory address on this occasion will be presented by Professor [George Howard] Darwin who will represent the Society and the University of Cambridge.
