Shaw Scott's letter, informs him that the date of the May Soiree next year has not been fixed yet, as they are still 'launched upon by a sea of troubles in connection with this year's soiree'. However, also informs him that the Soirees last well past 11pm and so 'any of your members who have survived the tea, coffee and light refreshments which I observe you probide at the conclusion of your May lecture would have plenty of time to roll in here'.
