TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to W Hart, 161 Copenhagen Street, Caledonian Road, N.
Date15 February 1894
DescriptionRix has shown the pictures to the Royal Society's Treasurer [John Evans], and he has stated that he does not wish to purchase the portrait of Isaac Newton. With regard to the engraving of Sir Home Popham, which Evans valued at half a guinea, he states that although he believes the given price of a guinea to be expensive, he will pay it as long as the newspapers and other scraps are included.

If Hart calls at the Society on any day except Saturday between 11 and 4, Rix will return the portrait and engravings of Newton and give him the guinea payment.
