TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir Archibald Geikie, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date16 February 1894
Description'Dear Sir Archibald,
We cannot find any trace of a grant under the name of "Rev. George Gordon". I suppose it has nothing to do with the £30 granted to yourself from the Donation Dund in December 1892 "to assist a Committee appointed by the British Association in an investigation of the character of certain high level shell beds in Scotland"? If it has not, then we do not know what it is, and think that it must have been a grant from the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
