TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Karl Pearson, University College, London
Date20 February 1894
DescriptionRix explains that he only had the statement of the engraver to go on, and he had positively been assured that Pearson had not mentioned any distinction between the actual and theoretical curves, except that the curve must pass through the calculated points. Rix suggests that as the engraver is an old man, perhaps he had forgotten.

He also states that Pearson has not answered his practical question, namely which of the options suggested he preferred - to keep the curve as it is, or sacrifice the delicate quality of the engraved work for his requested alteration.
